This procedure applies to all accidents or incidents involving Monash University owned or leased motor vehicles in Australia.

Dealing with the claims management company

• Whilst the claims process has been outsourced to a claims management company all drivers of Monash University vehicles will provide full assistance to the claims management company.

Responsibility

At the accident scene

• Do not admit fault (liability) for the accident.
• Call the police if anyone is injured.
• Exchange your details with the other driver, ensure you collect their details.
• Obtain details of any witnesses.
• Refer to the drivers kit for further information.

Completing paperwork- back at the office

• Complete the claim form contained within the drivers kit or contact Insurance Services
• Refer to the drivers kit for arranging repairs to the vehicle
• Fax the claim forms and quotes to the claims management company

Responsibility

Contact by others involved in accident or incident

• This could be the other driver, their solicitor or insurer
• Do not admit fault (liability) for the accident
• Advise them of the claim management company's contact details
• Any correspondence must be faxed immediately to the claims management company
