Monash University Policy Bank

Bank Accounts

Purpose

To ensure proper management and accounting for all university funds.

Scope

All campuses excluding Malaysia
All staff
All controlled entities

Policy Statement

University bank accounts are only to be opened or closed with the approval of the Vice President Finance on recommendation of the Treasurer. Any bank account opened without the required approval will be deemed to be unauthorised and Monash University will not accept any responsibility for any liability that may arise. Persons responsible for opening an unauthorised bank account may also be subject to disciplinary action. The procedures relating to all Monash University bank accounts must be adhered to.

Definitions

University Bank Account: a bank account bearing the name of or involving Monash University or any of its faculties, departments, research, controlled entities or other related bodies

Bank Account: an account that holds funds within a bank and is subject to additional deposits and withdrawals
