Non-Award Study ProceduresParent PolicyApproval and quality assuranceFaculties shall determine whether or not they will offer non-award study, taking into account probable resource requirements. Faculties shall maintain formal approval processes, including final approval by Faculty Board, for the offering of all non-award study. ResponsibilityDeputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Admission and enrolmentStudents enrolling in non-award study must meet the University’s minimum English language requirements. Entry to non-award study is contingent on meeting any other pre-requisites determined by the faculty. Faculties shall publish information about any non-award study activities they are offering, including admission requirements. Units undertaken on a non-assessed basis are to be enrolled in faculty defined non-assessed non-award single unit course codes. Upon enrolment, the ‘No Assessment’ checkbox is ticked against each unit that will be undertaken on a non-assessed basis. An appropriate ‘non assessed’ grade notation is recorded against the unit following completion of the unit. ResponsibilityFaculties Certificates and transcriptsCertificates of completion may be issued to certify that a student has successfully undertaken a non-award course of study. Such certificates are issued by the faculty, not by the University, and are separate and distinct from University awards which bear the University’s seal on the testamur.
Details of any completed non-award units of study undertaken on an assessed basis shall be included on a student’s transcript.
